Lake Day Atlas

Colorado’s largest natural lake sits at the western edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. The town boardwalk and Lakefront Park put visitors a short walk from the water, with views toward the mountains from the marina.

On the water

Plan your lake day

Walk the historic boardwalk to Lakefront Park, then take a guided pontoon ride from the town’s Headwaters Marina. The route offers a chance to hear the history of shoreline buildings that are easiest to see from the water.

Field notes

Before you go

Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Reservoir and Lake Granby are separate destinations in the same valley. Check the lake name on your boat rental or directions. Beacon Landing’s ice stop is at Lake Granby on the approach from the south.
